Some great tips here and just one or two to add from me...

Do you know how many customers you lost over the past couple of years? More importantly, do you know why you lost them?

One thing every business can do cost effectively is to target their lapsed customers. Sadly the recent difficult times may have led to some of your customers going out of business, but it may be that they decided to trim their costs and either 'make do' without your product or service or even try a cheaper alternative.

Now's the time to ask. Give them a call..."how have things been with you over the last 12 months or so?" They will probably be happy to speak to you and you may well find that they've not had such a good experience since they left you....you won't know unless you ask!

When you do successfully reignite your relationship with a lapsed customer then SHOUT ABOUT IT. Let the World and it's dog know. PR both online and offline is an excellent way of telling your customers, lapsed customers and prospects that you're good to do business with. Create a buzz and you'll all feel good about it....and who knows, you might get some new enquiries as a result.

I tried to buy the Liverpool shirt for my Guy to wear at next years Bonfire Night, but there were a few Liverpool fans lurking with deeper pockets. However, we were all please to see that proceeds of the auction were going to such a good cause. And thanks should go to all those that bid for items and Bernard Rooney for extracting the maximum amount out of us all.

Yes agree sound advice, there is alot of companies getting away with charging large amounts for SEO and doing very little!

SEO is not rocket since but it is a skill and because many of us are to 'busy doing the day job' to have the time and resources to learn what works, it maybe more cost effective to 'outsource' and get expert advice.

Be aware of companies guaranteeing 'Page One Google' , no one can they do not own Google! The only way they can is by paying the most on Google Ad words which can prove to be expensive for small businesses.

Sound advice. There are lots of companies out there promising the earth when it comes to search engine optimsation (SEO), make sure that you ask lots of questions and know exactly what you are getting for your money.

When it comes to choosing keyphrase or keywords a good SEO company will help you identify ones that will work with your objectives - gain business, promote brand awareness etc.

Do your homework and ask around, referral is still the best way of selecting a company you can trust. Remember SEO is a valuable service, so don't be drawn to companies simply because of prices - if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
